As a professional musician, I've used fake books all my life. Often, these fake books contain many bad chords and are usually not properly copyrighted. The Real Vocal Book Volumes 1 and 2 are very comprehensive books with many of the best standards that musicians play. Some of the songs in these books are ones that have previously been hard to find. These books generally use good chord voicings and often use some tasty alternative chords. There is a nice selection of very old standards and some newer ones that have come along more recently. Probably the only improvement I would suggest is that the publisher bind the books with a little more durable covers to withstand the normal wear and tear most musicians subject their books to. All-in-all, I highly recommend these books to professional or amateur musicians who enjoy playing great standards.
