The both earthwise herbals are highly original. The common things are mentioned, known to most of us working in this field , but one top of that: knowledge which can only come from a very experienced herbalist with a strong intuition as well.It is "mood-raising" to read the writers description of all the extra characteristics of many herbs, which one will probably find know where, at least not in such a clear and practical description.I will take years to find out if all the "specific indications" described/collected by the writer will work in one's own practise as well,if applied properly, but is seems to me worth every effort. So much more then the "materialistic" German commission E composition on herbs [nothing wrong with that]Highly recommended even if one is not working with herbs but just wants to know some of the beauty or our creation. This is a wonderful book for anyone seriously interested in herbal medicine. it's far from your standard "let's rewrite everything that's already been written about plants". I wish I'd had this in my library years ago.Excellent book. I have found why Matthew Wood is well known, referenced, sought after healer. I would find it amazing to just sit with him for one day watching him heal those who came to him. I am a CMH but he goes beyond that and it is in this book. It is easy to follow, makes sense, has you saying "I would never have thought of that." and is just an enjoyable book to read, if you like herbs that is. Have been buying all his books and will buy whatever he puts out. This book was a gift request from my daughter. She was very pleased with it and also requested the other volume! I liked that Amazon offered the option to have it shipped directly to her!True to Matt Wood wisdom, this is a book filled with details and examples of application. Volume 1 was a focus on European herbalism this is more on Western/North American herbal plants. Good companion to #1.This book contains little information about lots of stuff. It doesn't have enough information in it for use as a guide to treating ailments. For example, it'll say what the herb is, what it is good for, what it has been used for in the past, and then it'll say something like "use 1 to 2 drops a day" that doesn't tell you any relevant information. Use 1 to 2 drops a day at what concentration, how do you extract it, how do you apply it, when dot ou apply it? Not a great book, but it does have information about a lot of stuff.Bought this for my mother and she loves it! She always references this when she's looking to create some sort of medicinal concoction that's a healthy alternative. She is very into alternative medicine and she really likes this book. She would recommend this book and would buy it again!Awesome piece of art and work by a great man, all of his books are brilliant because they come from a beautiful soul. Thank you Mathew!Handy as Mathew Wood writes about tissue states as well as other indications of the herbs, and one generally gets the sense he speaks from personal experiance with the plants.Great book if you want to learn more about medicinal plants and herbalism. Very informative and worth the cost. Highly recommend thisI like alot it fine thanks ?The text looks like something that has been photocopied a million times. Very specific/technical. I was expecting more detail on how to use the herbs and its benefits.
